First day of life pups can not see or hear. Yet they are capable of wobbling their way to a nipple for their first drink. The Dam produces only colostrum for the first 24-48 hours.  A pup must receive colostrum within 12 hours. Without colostrum pups are vulnerable to disease and viruses. If newborn weight is 12oz. a weight gain of 2oz. daily should be noted and their newborn weight should double by day 8.

 for  a short time. Their ear canals have been shaping since birth and they
 will hear their first sounds any day now. This will be followed by their own
 sweet little cries, barks and growls. Pups are attempting to stand on all fours  Biggest male pup is 3.2lbs

Pups are three weeks old
We start at this age to feed them and paper train  along with their first dose of   worming medication. They can transverse the length of their whelping box 6'x4' on
all four legs without problem. Pups love to hear themselves talk and they now know they have a tail. Pups are interacting and playing with each other. Socializing is a must at this age. Pups Mamma is only in the box for a few minutes to feed and clean.  Their Independence training has started. biggest male is 4.8 lbs.

4 weeks old
We are half way to their destiny. Home to a loving family forever. Pups do just about everything at this age cry for attention, crawl into a lap, try to push a ball that's 3x's their size, puppy food has been introduced to their diet along with goat's milk to replace mother's milk for their weaning process. Eating is still a hectic process and looks more like a food fight then a meal. Food is soft for them to swallow even though their teeth have come in. Their favorite teething object are fingers and toes. Paper training was started at 3 weeks and pups are not always on target but doing well. They will develop the instinct to relieve themselves where they smell urine or knowingly go somewhere other then where they sleep. Biggest male weight 7.4 lbs.

5 weeks old
Pups are doing very well at paper training We are starting simple commands No and Off . They are doing very well with interacting with one another. Character is starting to shape 3 are not intimidated by strange sounds and three run from it. biggest male weight 8. 2 lbs.

 Pups are now six weeks old and their no#1 thought is to eat, poop and play. They are coming along with learning to potty on the paper and simple commands sit and down biggest male is 9.6 lbs
             
 Pups at seven weeks are very ready to go to their new home. They have a need to develop their own character at this age rather then be a dog in a pack. We will miss them but their new families are already in love with them. Pups will be in their new homes at eight weeks!!! YEAH!!!!   biggest male is 10.9 lbs
